Child Safety

Safe to explore.

At Xplor, child safety shapes our people, our environments, our supervision and the way we listen to children and families.

Child safety comes first

Every child has the right to feel safe.

At Xplor, the safety, rights and wellbeing of children guide the decisions we make every day. That means creating environments where children are protected, listened to and treated with respect. It also means making sure the adults around them understand their responsibilities.

Safe people.

Our team meets screening and qualification requirements and completes child protection and child safety training.

Children are seen and supported.

Our educators stay aware of where children are, what they are doing and where support may be needed.

We listen.

Children communicate in many different ways. We encourage them to express how they feel, make choices and ask for help.

Spaces designed with children in mind.

Our environments support visibility, safe movement and appropriate supervision.

Children's privacy matters.

We manage photos, videos and personal information carefully using approved devices and systems.

Questions are welcome.

Families can share information or raise a concern. We take all concerns seriously and have clear processes for responding.

What child safety looks like every day

More than a policy. It's our practice.

  • Knowing who is collecting each child
  • Checking environments before children use them
  • Listening when a child says something does not feel right
  • Managing photographs and digital devices carefully
  • Following safe sleep and rest practices
  • Reviewing risks before excursions and activities
  • Keeping families informed
  • Responding when something changes
  • Training our team
  • Recording and reporting concerns appropriately

Children have the right to be heard

Small voices matter.

We encourage children to talk about their feelings, express their preferences, ask questions and seek help. Educators observe children's words, behaviour and body language and take concerns seriously. Even very young children communicate when something feels right or wrong. Our job is to notice.

Digital safety

Protecting children online too.

Child safety extends beyond our rooms and playgrounds. We use approved devices and systems when documenting learning and manage children's information carefully. Access is controlled, and family permissions guide how images are collected and shared.

Working with families

Safety works better when we work together.

Families know their children best. We encourage you to share anything that may help us understand your child's wellbeing, routines or changing needs. If something concerns you, we want you to tell us. Open conversations help us respond early and support children consistently.

Our commitment

Safe children can explore with confidence.

We will keep reviewing our environments, training, policies and everyday practices as child safety standards continue to develop. Because safety is not one policy or procedure. It is part of how Xplor works every day.
